She would knead them at dawn, with flour from the village mill and good oil from her own land. Then she would boil them one by one, patiently, and let them slowly brown in the wood-fired oven.
They were the symbol of a promise: “While there will be hands to knead, there will always be home.”
Since then, those taralli have never ceased to be a symbol of affection, of returns, of roots. And still today, every time we taste them, we find a bit of that heart-warming simplicity.
